Kate and William first met a few years ago while they were both students in the same college : the university of Saint Andrews.
They got engaged in October 2010 during a trip to Kenya and the official announcement of their engagement was made on 16th November 2010.
William offered Kate his mother’s ring as an engagement ring (his mother was Lady Diana, she died in a car accident in Paris in 1997).

Kate and William got married in Westminster Abbey on 29th April 2011 at 11 a.m. It was a well-prepared and moving ceremony which was watched by millions of people all around the world. William chose his brother Prince Harry as his best man and Kate chose her sister as her maid of honour.
The government made this day a bank holiday so that British people could celebrate along with the newly-wed couple.
